WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO) PAID INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2021
The World Health Organization (WHO) as the leader in global public health issues is committed to building future leaders in public health. WHO's Internship Program offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight in the technical and administrative programs of WHO.
The duration of WHO internships is between six to twenty four weeks. WHO internships are paid and all costs catered for.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO: -
Provide a framework for assigning postgraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds to WHO programs that can enhance their educational experience through practical assignments.
- Expose students to the work of WHO.
- Provide WHO programs with input from students specializing in various fields. Most students are placed in health-related programs, although other disciplines can be considered as appropriate such as communication, external relations or human resources.
The duration of WHO internships is between six to twenty four weeks depending on the needs of the WHO unit and the intern’s availability.
BENEFITS:
As of March 2020, due to the pandemic. WHO provides payments of $450 weekly to their students and staffs under the internship program. The exercise is flexible and can be completed at your convenient time. It’s an easy work from home job and accepting this position means you will be contributing to a development / cause and help impact a change not just around you but also across the country.
Your main activities will be:
* Helping to catalogue various hospitals / health centers / orphanages around you that we can make a donation to and help them combat the impact of the pandemic
* Shopping and sending out of items to health centers or individuals that are in need.
* Giving us information on the institutions around you that provide help or housing aids to individuals around you so we can catalogue them for future donations / assistance.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?:
- You are at least seventeen years of age on the date of application.
- You are enrolled in a course of study or work at a university or equivalent institution leading to a formal qualification (graduate or postgraduate)
- You are not related to a WHO staff member (e.g., son/daughter, brother/sister, or mother/father).
- You are fluent at least in one of the working language of the office of assignment ( English / French / Spanish ).
- You have not previously participated in WHO’s Internship Program.
